Ahh Redemption

I WAS NOT LATE! Not today and not last week.

Apparently they let the kids out early. As a rule. As much as 8 minutes.

Today I was the first Mom to arrive, and J was the first child allowed to go to his Mom. He still wasn't thrilled about being there, but he seems alright and I think I made up for things because I was there on time today.

Phew. It wasn't me.

Really, they might want to tell the partents such important information! Jack would be absolutely mortified if I was late.

Good motivation to not be late!

I forgot my daughter's backpack today and had to drive all the way home and get it after I dropped her off. I really need to get with the program!

I can't believe they let them out early.

I wonder why they let the kids out so early on a regular basis? Sort of bizarre, without letting you know first? Each school is so different. Hard to keep up. But it will get better as it becomes routine. Before you know it he'll be wondering why you're coming so early!

I just read your last few posts, to catch up. I CANNOT believe the amount of equilibrium you have, what with the recent birth and all. Will adrenaline wear off, or are you this Super all the time? Wow!

I guess I never birthed a sleeper, which may have made a difference.

Your J will continue to ease in to the new place and routine. He will make a friend. It will be all good.

And I will/would *always* be the last mom there.

I know how it feels like to be "the last mom" picking up. I've also been the mom who forgot to pick up her child (when my hubby and I crossed wires) and the mom who brought her child to kindergarten on the wrong day (in the days of every-other-day kindergarten). The teacher said my son kept looking around like he was on an episode of the Twilight Zone: the teacher is the same, the classroom is the same, all the kids are different...... So you are scoring straight A+s in comparison to some of us. xoxo

I'm so happy to hear your baby is here safely. (I'm a bit behind in reading all my friends' blogs.)

I've also learned over the years that buses pick up kids early.

It makes about as much sense....
