Welcome Winter

Today is the Winter Solstice!!! The shortest day of daylight, the first real day of Winter. I can't believe it is here already, which means of course.... that there will be more hours of sunlight starting tomorrow :), which means we are that much closer to spring.

In the summer we usully celebrate the solstice by staying out in the backyard late into the night and having a cold one. In the winter we are usually too busy to take note. But, what should we do for fun anyway on this shortest day of light in the year? Hmmmm.... sit by the fire and sip hot chocolate. That sounds like a great idea.

To everyone, happy first day of winter, may it be short and sweet.

Same to you Anna.

But it's minutes longer every day not hours if only that were the case.

I hope it;'s short and sweet for you too.

LOL Barb! if only that worked here.

Sharon, you are so right, I guess I was thinking of daylight hours in total. But, I will enjoy those extra minutes today ;)

Pete, Hopefully we will get in some "downhill" skiing this year ;) Summer is right around the corner I can feel it already.

R2K, we have only really had winter weather since the beginnig of December here. We were really blessed with the weather this past summer and fall.

Anna - who can wait until after Christmas for the first thaw :)
