Happy Birthday to Silver Creek Mom

I wanted to shout out a Happy Birthday to Silver Creek Mom. I know she wanted my little girl to arrive on her birthday as a present. And I have definately tried, but unless things start moving it most likely won't happen today. Although I should say it is only 8am and anything is possible.

I had another ultrasound yesterday, my Midwife wanted to be 100% sure that the baby was head down. They have been flipping back and forth as to whether or not she was breech. I kept telling them that she hasn't flipped around since the 30wk u/s but they still wanted to be sure. So, yes she is still the right way and measuring a little bigger than my Midwife originally thought. Between 8lbs 10oz & 9lbs 10oz. J was 8lbs 5oz (with a 10lb head) so I am not too worried. If this goes on much past her actual date then I will start to get nervous. I just hope she will fit the few little clothes I bought for the first few weeks.

I will be vacuuming again today, I did it last night for the first time since June, hoping to start things up. So you just never know... the 23rd may just be the day.

How exciting! Isn't it great to know that we have ultrasounds now as opposed to when I was born and everyone had no clue until the birth!

C'mon baby girl! I bet you are more than ready. I love the anticipation right before you go into labour. I am living vicariously through you right now.

I hope everything goes perfectly

My personal experience with ultrasounds, plus my friends' stories, is that the weight estimates are usually on the high side. So I think you're good!

I saw a Baby Story episode where a mother delivered her second at home in her tub... the baby was over 10 pounds! The mother got through it just fine, no big deal.

I think it's amazing what our bodies can do when we are mentally prepared for child birth.

(Not being mentally prepared for labor left me a tense, quivering, distraught mess until my spinal block).

As for the tiny newborn clothes, even though they may be labeled "up to 7 pounds" my chicks were able to wear the itty bitty size until they were about 9 1/2 pounds. That was a month for them. They were little newborns, about 6 1/2 pounds each. They plumped up quick! ;)

Well, my ultrasounds were always weighing my babies in less than they actually came out. And they couldn't wear any newborn clothing at over 9 1/2 lbs birthweight. I vacuumed a lot too at the end. Unfortunately, it never worked for me. Hope it does for you!

Ah, even my giant Simon at 10 lbs still fit into the newborn clothes - but he did jump straight to the size 1 diapers!

Thinking of you every day!

Thanks for the insight on the lazy eye... the ability to look people in the eye is something I never thought of.

I tend not to notice it but I guess I am not that objective :-)

Vacuuming, walking and sex - and not necessarily in that order. Good luck, hope tonight is the night.

Both my girls were only a little over 5lbs. I don't think I could give birth to anything bigger.

Good luck!

I keep thinking how amazing it is that we've got the technology to do so much. In the 70's, when I was born, everything was still for the most part, a guessing and waiting game.

Wow! 8 to 10 lbs! That's amazing! :) I was 6.5 lbs and my poor mom was in labour for 21 hours! Mind you, she was 75 lbs before she got pregnant (she's less than 5' tall) and I was her first child.

I keep checking to see if your little one has arrived! This is so exciting! When's the due date supposed to be? Do your friends and family have a baby pool going? ;)
